Default Goofing off with my mill

I didn't really like the way these valve covers look as cast. Too plain and had a cast texture. So I through them on the mill table, made a template from my current valve covers and added the PONTIAC name to them. Its not perfect but my mill is a manual mill. No auto feed. Now I think I'll keep them. I was planning on buying a set of fabricated covers when the build is complete.

Thanks, I was about to mill the entire top surface, so the top would shine and the sides would stay cast. But then I would have to re do the lettering. Making the curves in the letters by hand control wasn't easy for me. Just a little wrong adjustment and it would have screwed up. ..lol..

Yes. I bought a package deal, heads & shaft rockers, intake, 2 sets of piston, cam and lifters.
Next step is to send the block out for the machine work. Hopefully next month.

Nice work!
Only having my manual mill, I well know how nerve-wracking such jobs are.
