Not common, pretty rare to find one in nice shape still. Worth the asking price? Not in my opinion personally, but you never know when someone just HAS to have one for their collection and will pay stupid money.
His comments about all the other options it has being rare are just fluff to sell the car. Power locks, windows, and gauges aren't that rare, neither is AC or deluxe interior. |

Fluff
The seller is FOS. True, Redbirds are rare but not $18K rare. He is out of his mind. Many of the Sky/Red/Yellowbirds were optioned on the heavy side (many had the Chevy 350 as this car does) so his ultra-rare claims are bit far-fetched.
$6000 sounds a bit more reasonable to me. It looks to be a very nice car but it won't bring B-J T/A money. |

I wouldn't consider any of the Redbird,Skybird or Yellowbird Esprit S/E's to be rare......they sold a lot of them back in the day...uncommon to find one around today in good original condition...
Alot of them got junked out 20 years ago....and they are not a model that many would attempt to restore.....back in the day,GUYS drove T/A's and GIRLS drove Esprit's...Redbirds,etc. They are an interesting part of our 70's Firebird history/culture....but very small market for them right now....
