I really don't like the bright Marigold Yellow on a GTO but Mayfair Maize is one of my favorites...as long as it has a black interior and no vinyl top.

Was just kidding Greg on the Expreso . I'm with you on the Mayfair, the 66 Vert is Candelight Cream, which is basically Mayfair Maize. The interior is Black. This is also one of my favorite color combo's. Had a buddy in high school who had a 67 or 68 Camaro with those colors, another friend had a 66 mustang with the same combo. I always liked it. If I hadn't promised myself I will get a 69 Judge one day, I would probably want to re-paint my 69, but I'll just keep it the way it was ordered. It's still a 69 GTO.

Charles, I especially like the Mayfair/Candlelight colors on the pre '68 cars. Again, black interior is a must for me...at least for the A bodies.

How does it give an idea if it's a completely different pink?

1967 Firebird - Special Order Paint: Mist Pink This car is a survivor so the paint is a bit faded. Mist Pink was not a production color in 1967. In 1968, Pontiac made Pink Mist a production color for it's Spring sales on all cars except the GTO with the Endura bumper. There does exist a 1968 Pink Mist GTO with chrome bumper but unfortunately no photos have surfaced

I guess I'm color blind. It doesn't look completely different than the color chip to me. I'll take your word for it.
Unless the faded example above is more accurate to the original, I assumed that when new, the paint would be a bit deeper.

I get enough grief for my Mayfair Maze Yellow GTO, but I like it and do get plenty of compliments. People either love it or hate it, I could care less, I didn't paint it for them.

That 68 Pink GTO will need a whole new roof... once they pull the vinyl top nothing will be left...

its a shame I think the car would look nice all done up..

Back in the 80's I got hold of one of those full page color chip sheets from the service bulletin book for 69 Pontiac. I wrote numbers by each color one being my first choice and so on. If I recall there were 21 colors (including 3 GP only colors). My 19th choice was Limelight, 20 was Mayfair and 21 was Expresso.

30 years later I have a Limelight GTO, a Mayfair LeMans and a GTO, a Bonneville and a GP all in Expresso. Go figure?

Someone in an earlier post said it right, every color is pretty when done right on a nice car. The only line in the sand I draw is bad color combinations..

I remember seeing a 69 (RAIV to boot) GTO that was expresso with green interior and Cordova top
A 70 GTO convertible that was blue with a red interior and white top (a Patriots or Canadiens fan I guess)

Conversely some color schemes sound bad but look nice... I saw years ago a Carousel 69 Judge with the gold interior, very sharp!

I would love to see that car totally restored to factory condition. Probably will never happen but I would love to see it. At that price, it will stay right where it is.

The all caps run-on ranting really bolsters the asking price. How do these people come up with the numbers like "2 left in the world of 8"? Are there even any records for '68 that show the production numbers by paint?

Looking through the pics, the water neck, a/c brackets, a/c compressor, alternator bracket, and ps pump aren't original. It looks like mid-late '70s to me? It may not be the original engine.

Thanks for letting us know about it.
And , damn , it does look even worse now.
Had hoped that Mr. or Mrs. Right had acquired the car last time.

Looks to need at least 95% of everything replaced.
Cowl would be worth saving.

Would liked to have seen it when New
It would kill at the bigger car show events, in pristine condition.

If you had that car given to you I don’t think you could restore it and make a dime on it.

Heres my Expresso brown Judge convertible which I think is rarer than that Pink POS. AND BTW just because it's rare doesn't mean its desirable. He's absolutely out of his mind to think that car is worth 175k. Not even if it was frame offed. I Cant even get that for a REAL JUDGE convertible.
