More Pics. I have gotten rid of the oil filter relocator. Running 275 60 15 Hoosier drag radials tucked up in the fender well now.

Is it a 66 or 67?? The grill looks like a 66 in the close up pic but the rear bumper is 67 for sure.

By the way, I just found this pic of Old Blue before the Cragars...

Don't take offense to this, but I am not a fan of Cragars. Your car looked great with the rallye IIs. There are many other aftermarket wheel designs out there that are not so 1980's. I didn't even like Cragars then.

Just my opinion. Still a nice car.

I know they were available in the 60's, 70's & 80's, I was being a little sarcastic. I love the torque thrust's. Maybe it is the Chrome that I dislike & not actually the Cragars themselves.

No offence taken. We ll have our opinion. Ive always been a fan of The Cragar SS wheel. I just dont like to see them on big fat tires sticking way out of the wheel well. I have a couple of freinds with 17" Cragars on their GTO's. I like those even better.

I liked it with the Rally II's but got tired of the bias tires. They're terrible. And Im not much of a fan of the radial redlines either. Those wheels were painted to match the car and the redline looked really nice with the red stripe down the side of the car. Oh well. Im happy with it for now.

When I can get some money together (hopefully next year) Ill be doing some "upgrades" to it.

Thanks! Good eye! I'm really liking your 66 too!

It is a 67, but it has the 66 front header panel/grills, the car came that way, It will be changed though.. I have the 67 front header panel/grills, I'm just waiting to have the header panel painted!

OK....I dug down deep into the archives and found a pic of my '66 Tempest back when I had it at the 1993 GTO Nats in Indianapolis. They let us drive around the racetrack once and then you got to stop to have your picture taken.

I ended up drag racing that year in the GTOAA drag racing event at Raceway park. Got 2nd place behind Mike Cooper's '63 that year, but put a bunch of other big guys on the trailer with consistent low 13 second times during the non-GTO drag race event.......

The car eventually ran a best of 11.80 @ 113MPH in Cordova at the '96 at the POCI nats in '96. A nice street driven '66 with manners that would "rip your nuts off and throw 'em out the window" (to quote Cliff Ruggles) when you stepped on it.

Tommy, nice find and she looks good too. I'd say you "stole" it at 5 grand. Especially with the 389 tri power.

Basically stock .030 over 455 bottom end with SD-455 rods, Crower 60245, '71 197 HO heads milled and ported by Jim Taylor. 8.9:1 CR, running 87-89 octane fuel. Performer RPM with a 800 Holley DP Spreadbore, and headers with a 3" exhaust, 17770 Dynomax mufflers and 3" tails.

Lets see, TH-400 built by me with a Level-10 10" converter and a 3.73 12-bolt....

Nice ride Tommy. You got lucky. And what I wouldnt give to have that motor in my car...Theres just something about a Tri-power that I really like.
