Do you have your wheels yet? If those are 17 in do they clear your brakes? Asking because I am looking at those 17 in steel wheels and wonder if they clear big brakes. Thanks.

Wheels are a custom billet 18x8 rear / 18X7 front. I don't believe 17's would have cleared the front rotors

Pypes Exhaust mock up. Hopefully the addition of cutouts doesn't push X back to far and interfere wit drive shaft

Looking good! We're about the same spot in our progress, just two totally different builds. I like what you're doing, keep it up!

That should be a real concern. If you can avoid shortening the 'legs" that exit the rear of the X you will be okay. We got in a 67 with the Pypes X system and the installer had shortened the legs behind the X instead of the pipes forward of the X. This put the X way behind the front yoke. As soon as the car went on the lift the drive shaft was scraping the X. As we lightened the car the scraping became so severe whenever we pushed the car that we pulled the driveshaft. I had a conversation with Chris Cassperson about this, and he told me that it happens all to often. He stressed to me to make any changes in pipe length forward of the X. We got another pair of "legs" from Pypes, installed at full length. All modifications were made forward of the X and it worked out great. Very nice project, BTW! |

Car is looking great! I really like the painted aluminum heads/intake look, too.

Exhausted being fitted. A little snug at the driveshaft but should be ok.
