Default Flex plate for 326

Can anyone offer advice on this item? Will it fit a 63 Tempest, a/t v-8? Or if anyone has a flex plate to sell. Thanks.

The 63 Tempest flex plate is a 1 year only plate.

Sorry Augie for the delay.I took off flex plate today. There are no support spacers on this one but I’ll get it out to you with bolts tomorrow.does any body know if these had a support washer or spacer that would support the wheel from fatigue or cracking?

Thanks Darren. Does any one have a good picture of what the plate looks like? I can't seem to find one on the shop manual. Thanks.

Default Looks like it’s cracking??

Hopefully these pictures come out. I don’t know how to enlarge them. after a closer inspection of the wheel when I was taking pictures. I see cracks that are starting to form. I have a really good talent with tig Welding. I could weld up the cracks but I don’t know if you would want to take the chance with all the labor involved ,plus if it does break it will leave you stranded.

I don't think the cracks are a major problem. Run it until it fails, then call AAA when it don't start.
They are probably all cracked at this point. I believe a cracked flexplate will only fail when starter motor is engaged, as that is the only time it is under stress.

Default Welded flex plate up

Hi Augie and Elifantrider. I’m going to try to attach pictures will see how it goes LOL. ..... I welded the cracks on the fly wheel/flex plate as it’s actually really is called.. It actually has two plates stamped together and welded together at the ring gear.Ok so only the side with the bolt Head had cracks the opposite side that goes to the crankshaft did not. I think Elefantrider is also looking for one,he is welcome to it if you don’t want or need it anymore. like I said whoever wants it to just pay for the shipping and it’s yours. I didn’t wanna throw it away figured the small cracks easily were weldable. Darren 203-650-4188 is best way to get in touch I don’t get here too often. Hope it will help someone fix their car.

Thanks Darren. I have a flex plate lined up with Bashee 63. Hopefully it will be the right one. In the meantime if Elefantrider is in need of one, get yours to him. Thanks for the pics, good beads on the weld!
