Default Front License Plate Bracket?

So I just bought a 65 Tempest Custom 4 door sedan for my 12 year old son. I noticed it has a bracket on the front bumper for the top half of the license plate. My question is, was a similar bracket used in 66? I've never seen one, but it makes some sense to secure the top of the plate.....

Anyone know?

Thanks,
Importsmasher

Chris, that is exactly how my 66 looks. I've never seen such a bracket before, and when I saw it on the 65 it made me wonder about 66. Thanks for the clarification!

X2, I checked both the service manual and the Paul Zazarine Restoration Guide in case my car was not correct when I bought it, but both those sources agree not on 66 bumper.

Thanks! Lol if it had been correct for my 66, I was going to steal it off my son's car, since originality is no concern.....
