Tire Size /Pics?
Interested in seeing what everyone is using for tire sizes. Please post pics if you have them. I plan on using 15" Torque Thrust, but plans could change.
Thank you!! Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

I went with American Racing's Torq-Thrust II Polished 17X7 up front and 17X8 out back with Toyo PROXES T1R in 235/45ZR17 and 255/45ZR17

I tried 275 50 15 on the back and they wouldn’t fit. I ended up going with 255 50 15’s on the back and 245 50 15’s on the front.

Here is my son's 69 with 275-60x15 M/T drag radials on Torque Thrust IIs on the rear. IIRC the backspace is 4.50 and I had to trim just a small amount of the upper wheel well lip on the inside to give enough clearance. Fronts are 205-70x15.

Was thinking something like this night have a mean look on a street/strip car in a 255/60/15. For the few miles I put on, not worried about tire life or bad weather driving*

Speargun... those rears are maybe a little bigger than I was thinking, but curios on clearance... how much room do you have between tire and frame rail? Would a wheel with 4.5" back space still clear?

IF the 275's were to rub on the frame, you can easily add a wheel spacer to bump them out a bit. I'm actually looking at trying to stuff a 325 under the rear for my new set of tires.

Makes sense, I thought they were sticking out a ways
I have yet to order a new 9" for my car, and assuming I will go with a stock width. No rims yet either, so trying to line it all up and not do it a second time Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

I just double checked & I have an easy 1.5" between the tire & body.
And I'm pretty sure that the rims have a 4.5" backspace. ***Just measured & it's 5.5" backspace Here's a pics that show how the tire fills the wheel well. Looking down from the top, the tire is entirely under the well. They look a bit wider when you get the angle just right.

Just a quick follow up on this thread, I also had a conversation going here on a similar topic...
https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?url...5&share_type=t For those running a 275/60/15 in the rear on a 67/68, are we dangerously close to tire rub? I have heard a few comments to that effect. I am thinking a 255/60/15 on a 8" x3.8" backspace might provide a little room for error? Right now my thought is the 255 on the rear and a 165/85/15 up front for the desired fat & skinny look. Talking out loud here... feel free to share thoughts and experiences Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
