This is terrible.

I’m sure after the dust settles we’ll hear from Dave about any particulars regarding insurance recovery and the like.

I shipped heads for my 63 tribute SD tempest. He has had them 4 years and a few months. About a year in, he was trying to get them wrapped. Well that story never changed. I was praying his effort to clear the open jobs was getting somewhere this Spring.
I'm getting older and losing any hope of finding these heads, or another set to build this. Already commited on the SD intake for the pre 65 mold just to mate to these 9770716 heads.

Beyond frustrating, and he is probably done sad to say. You don't just rebuild lost computers, lost CNC files (he lost those in 2008 as well from the mudslide). Even if he could find the machines and mills, flow benches, age is catching all of us and denying choices.

As terrible as we all feel for Lisa and Dave, NONE of the children on the bus died, or were hurt!!!

I hope Dave can rebuild. None of those elementary children could have been replaced....

That’s a real bummer for Dave and Lisa. He has had some bad luck for sure. So sad

I also have heads there for my 68 GTO

Not too familiar with that town but have driven the river valley going North by Spokabe, crossing at remote checkpoint, and following river to Vancouver. Tempting spot for sure. But at bottom of a mountain where weather meets vertical sure has its price.

Wheel bearing or under inflated tire on mountain would cause a blowout, and they can get to 600 degrees without flames when in motion with air cool. Second you stop, they ignite. Doubt driver was adept at handling that scenario, seeing as he pulled up to combustibles in a extreme hot May with wildfire risk off the charts. Water is about only way to get that fire out once it goes crazy.

If Dave stays put, hope you put up a block or poured concrete wall frame. Needs to be stronger than moving mountain mud.

Has anyone spoke to Dave? See how they are? Curious if the insurance from the bus charter company will cover this. Curious about his plans for the future. Wishing them the best, considering all they’ve been thru the last few years.

I'm sorry to hear about this I hope the insurance company from the bus is able to be used to make him whole again, and yes maybe looking for a new location is best for them, but the programs and files are probably a complete loss at best unless they were backed up off-site!! If Dave didn't have bad luck he wouldn't have any LUCK at ALL. I hope Dave can get it figured out soon for his Sanity!!
