Default '81 Glove box plastic or cardboard?

So my 81 TA has a plastic glove box someone drilled some holes in so I got a repop. it is carboard liek my original Camaro's. Isn't the plastic correct?

My old '81 T/A had a plastic glove box. Thats all I've ever seen in 2nd-gen Firebirds.

That's what I thought this carboard one looks pretty cheesy too.

All the t/a`s and firebirds I have parted out have had the plastic glove boxes. Still have a few laying around.
