Best way to store Formula hood while off the car?
Any suggestions on best way to store a Formula hood while off the car? Because of space, was thinking on the roof (paint/scratches aren't an issue) on top of some towels. Would this mess with the shape of the hood?
The engine is getting rebuilt hence why the hood is off. Thanks.

They are heavy, scratched paint aside, I'm not sure I'd want anything like that sitting on a roof. You don't have a spare wall to lean it against, on its side, not it's rear corners?

I bought some of the small ratchet straps and hung mine over the car. I would have no issue putting the hood on the roof. Done it many times with a blanket or cushion of some sort underneath. Only downside is if this is long term it may end up being a mouse nest.

I have two of them stored at the moment in my garage. I lean them against the wall with either the driver's or passenger side touching the floor and the underside facing the wall. I have large blankets on the floor and blankets covering the shiny surface. Make sure you have extra padding on the floor about six inches from the fragile tip, so it slightly raises that area up without stressing it.

I have one leaning against the wall. Make sure to lean it in its side, and not on the points.

Thanks guys. Think we'll lean it against a wall carefully.

If it already has a curve going on use a couple saw horses. Set it up with one at the each corner to support hood. Then place 3-4 75lb bags of sand on her and leave it. Mine straighten right out after a 6 month hibernation. Once back on the car always keep the hood popped thus not locked down or latched. This prevented my curve from returning.

Actually, the hood sits very flush with the fenders.
