Default 02' GP inside hood release

the inside pull was stiff/cable was froze! I got it to move but its not pulling the under hood latch release, cable is not resetting.
Is there another way to get to the hood latch to open the hood?
THanks guys

I used some vise grips to pull on the cable seems its fully extended and won't return.
How else can the hood be opened?

Glad to hear you got it resolved! I wish I knew what to tell you. We never had an issue with the cable on our now gone 99 GTX. What did you end up having to do?

I think it was frozen......tried on a warmer day and it worked.
Funny the inside latch was moving freely just not releasing the hood latch.

I glad it was that easy! I think I would be looking into replacing that cable when the weather breaks, If you plan on keeping the car. It must have a crack in the sheilding to let some water in and freeze the cable.

OK Jeff, thanks for the heads up!
Its a 40th Anniversary. The small things are starting to pile up.
Stereo speakers are beat, HUD's out also. She cracked 100K last month!
Just bought a new 14' AWD Hemi Charger as a replacement.
Gonna use the 02 as a winter foul weather car or sell her.
Bought new & has served me very well......

The latches get bad & won't open, when it did that at the dealer we just popped out the left grille & reached in with a pair of pliers to open it up.
