Aftermarket oil pan '65 grand prix
Has anybody used a canton, moroso or milodon 7qt pan in a '65 GP. Any fitment issues or does it clear without any problems

The drag link will rub on the front of a stock replacement Milodon pan on a 65-69 B Body. Can't speak for any other aftermarket ones. Even the Ames catalog makes note of it. I'm using an OE pan, but I welded a baffle into it to help keep the oil down.

I've got this one in a 65 GP. It just barely rubs the frame right at the front of sump, but that is most likely due to addition of crank scraper and aftermarket windage tray that both use oil pan rail for mounting, which lowers the oil pan relative to block. There are no other issues however.

arowhed, are you also running headers with this pan? Any clearance issues? I want to run the same pan and i'm having a set of headers made up by Mark at mad dog.
Do you have any pics of the underside? |
