Just a hunch, by any chance, is it for this car?

Yes it is. The car is blown apart now waiting for me to find a replacement drivers side A-piller to replace the rusted out one. Then in goes the new cowl panel, acid dip, e-coat, blacked out bottom and start putting it back together.

No way!!!

I found myself being a little envious of the guy who bought it, and enjoyed seeing him bring it back to life;
I then found myself being a little blond-sided when he sold it - I actually only realized he sold it when I found it being listed by the next owner on craigslist!?
(I then went to his FB profile to see he posted a picture of it driving away.)

I helped him decide what carb to buy;
I told him what the correct one was, and gave him the facts with pros and cons of other 70-71 carbs...

I'd love to see a progression of the car if you were willing to share.

Yes it came from Redding and had a early NOS 70-71 ta hood on it that was resprayed silver. Paint faded off the hood over the years revealing the NOS black once again. Perfectly straight and the best original I've ever seen.

When I got it, the engine ran but was blowing tons of oil out the passengers side valve cover so I decided to blow the car apart and bring it back. The engine was rebuilt once as it has .030 over pistons in it.

I'm searching for:
Carb
NOS front fenders (cracked and bent and rusted inner braces)
Nice early 70 decklid (badly drilled spoiler holes in both the skin and under brace)
Nice front nose (very deep ruts in this one)
Alternator
Dual snorkle air cleaner and lid.
AM/FM stereo radio

Things I've already picked up:
early 70 Formula hood
Distributor
Water pump
Starter
NOS front lower valance

Rob

...
Andy, who found and brought the car back to life said that he was told it was parked BECAUSE of the excessive blow-by - but that didn't stop him from bringing it back to life.
He still has the videos up from when he first got the engine running, then first got the car moving under it's own power.
At first the car looked bad, but the more you looked at it, the more it had going for it... which brings me back to my being briefly envious of the guy

I'd love it if you could make a thread about the car to share updates...
