if you want the most power potential i would go with the ported hurricane. SD performance is one of the best pontiac head & intake porters, so your getting that work already done, just match the ports to your heads & clean up the plenum area. if you are looking for a place to do the porting, check out SD performance, they are also one of the best values for CNC porting out there.

i havent installed mine yet, i use a factory SD ported HO intake that im happy with, but may install the hurricane some day just to see what it does.

you still have the 10sec t-type? would like to see a pic of that.

should have a "manage attachments" button when you select post reply. then just select where to get the pic from & it will download the file & post in your reply.

The Tomahawk is about the same height as a stock factory iron intake.

Run a Tomahawk. Mine works great on a 9.3 455. 10.98 with it.

How much does it weigh??

Mike here drives his street car to the track and has gone 11.30's in the past with a 9:1 455, using self ported iron d-port heads that only flow 220 cfm. Doing it in the desert heat no less, in a 3500 lbs car.

He uses an old school warrior intake on it.

The combo works pretty well.

Here's just one pass with 3 lbs. fuel pressure. Struggling fuel system problems has caused his ET's to be all over the place but we've always felt once that's ironed out the car would drop in the 11-teens or so.

The Tomahawk had some work to it by SD. But not much as they are a already ported intake as is.
The carb is a Proform 850 main body with the rest from a basic 850 DP.
Car is a 69 GTO without interior and roll bar, 9 inch rear with ladder bars.
.060 TRW 455 with ported 71 HO heads and Hooker Super Comps. Solid roller cam .689- . 264-.271 UD. Converter is a PTC 9". I leave at 3600 with brake.
I trailer it as the ex is open. It has been 10.84 with a Warrior intake. Engine is long in the tooth (1990) but still runs great.
IMO the Tomahawk is a very good intake for most with iron heads.
