Larger combustion chambers?

They are only offering the 72cc CNC chamber but as time permits we'll see how much meat is left to enlarge that.

Nobody's bolted them on yet as far as I've heard. I'm really not expecting any problems although there are a few things we will do to Optimize our premium offerings.
Good looking high quality castings right out of the box.

Your father in-law bought Global West control arms, but you bought the Chinese knockoffs for $1000 less on eBay. Dont get me wrong, I still remember Pro Comp. I'm just trying to understand this post as it really is quite contradictory.

1200 is a big number for things like springs retainers and valves. I actually looked at the parts side by side. Ascertained on my own volition that there was no way these things were coming from two different places and made my decision! The knockoffs took global west alignment specs. At best these heads are cast in China where as we know where Edelbrock is cast

I did not know Edelbrock was cast in China. When did that start ?
I guess nothing is sacred anymore. F the Chi Coms.
Craftsman tools used to be the cheap US made hand tools. Not they come from China too. I would rather buy from Taiwan, at least they are free.

Umm, OK? 1000 is a big number for bushings and balljoints. As for the knockoffs taking GW alignment specs, well, I had to look that one up. You actually bought copies of their control arms, and then you contacted Global West for support? You bought your Chinese parts because you could save some coin, so stop being judgemental and let GZR do his thing.

The problems I have with these heads is that the edelbrock bare heads are only $130 more.
The assembled speedmaster heads for 440 mopar and 455 oldsmobile are close to 40% cheaper then the pontiac heads. Why?

Bare Edelbrocks with UNFINISHED Chambers are $1627.90 at Summit. Ours are $1549 with CNC Chambers so it's a little less than you thought, BUT what's it going to cost to get the chambers CNCed?

Thank you for the visual evaluation of the new heads. Also for the complete list of specs and flow numbers. Several additional items that would be of interest would be: Could you please put one of these heads on a scale and get a bare casting weight of the head. Of course seats and guides would be installed, no problem there. It would be interesting to compare between these, E-heads and KRE. As we all know, sealing an aluminum head to an iron block with 10 head bolts is a challenge. Flimsy, lightweight heads make this an even more difficult task. Great cooling system layout helps, but there is no replacement for actual material in the head. Second, do you plan to cut one head up to inspect water jackets, thickness of the casting around the head bolt columns, meat in the bowl area, around the short turn, around the spark plug if you intend to make the chamber larger? Seems like all this would be necessary to fully evaluate. I realize you just got your hands on them and the initial look seems positive, but it seems like allot more destructive testing as well as dyno testing at a minimum would be needed to draw any real conclusions. I wish you the best in your efforts. Any chance you could 3D print a pair of these heads in IRON? (Which is what we really all need whether people want to admit it or not)

How much advantage is there between cnc and as cast chambers for the average street guy? Bare Oldsmobile speedmaster heads are $760 a pair at jegs. Less than half the price of the speedmaster pontiac heads. The olds chambers don't look to be cnc machined.

SpeedMaster sources parts from US, Australian and Chinese suppliers. I'm sure over time I'll get everything figured out but quality will always be highest on my list.

Like someone else pointed out it needs more evaluation.

I need to correct myself. These $1627.90 Edelbrock heads are semi finished. So the correct BARE Edelbrock 72cc heads are P/N 60589 with AS CAST Chambers and a price at both Summit and Jegs of $1893 a pair. Then you need to have the chambers CNCed but you'll never get the 72cc CNCed Fast Burn Heart Shaped chamber when it's already cast at 72cc with the wrong shape.

Either way, the price difference in BARE heads is $344 plus the chamber work.
