Any Montana fans here?
Being born in California, my Mother was a BIG fan of the 49r’s, LA Rams, and Oakland Raiders, back in the day. She loved Joe Montana as he was Hungarian as she was as well. Also a huge Joe Namath fan. Anyway I just found this collector card in a plastic jacket showing his Super Bowl rings. Any fans out there? I am not a collector of football memorabilia.

Was tending bar in Chatham NJ, the Sunday night SF beat DAL when Joe hit Dwight Clark on the last play of the game (The Catch!). The place was full of Giants fans who naturally hated Dallas. The placed erupted when SF scored....not so much for the Niners, but to see hated Dallas lose! Been a 49ers fan ever since..................

Back in the 90's, my brother was snowboarding in the mountains with his church group and accidently plowed into his daughter. My bro thought he was going to get the beating of his life but Joe thought it was hilarious and burst out in laughter.

The first real mountains I ever saw were in Montana. 1969 - I attended the National Boy Scout Jamboree in Idaho, visited Glacier National Park in NW Montana on the way there (traveling in a Greyhound Bus - side note - Greyhound was founded in my hometown and I used to deliver the newspaper to it's founder) and it was awesome. Two years late I went mountain climbing with my church youth group in the Wind River Mountains in Wyoming.
That football player guy was pretty awesome too. |

Joe was a local boy. Played for our high school district. Ringgold high school. Always nice to see local talent succeed.

That says it's his Rookie card. Joe Montana was not a rookie in 1981.

The Joe Montana rookie card was not released until his third year of professional play. He threw only 23 passes in 1979 and did not become the starter in 1980 until about halfway through the season. But, in 1981 he started every game and led the 49ers to one of its most successful seasons to date going 13-3. |
