Default .842 lifters

Ok I did a search earlier and instead of bringing up old stuff I thought I'd start a new thread.

First off thoughts on the Crower endra lifters with the needless roller? That's what I'm gona run in the new motor and that's what Jim Butler talked me into due to current availability.compared to the RedZone's

2. I've read in past post guys are saying 1000psi max on those .842 lifters and is that over the nose psi or over the nose psi times rocker ratio?

3. I've also read about Gaydosh's 1100hp beast and he used the .842 lifter on that monster how did the lifters hold up and for how many passes.........now I know there is no one in heck my new motor will even come close to that # but I'm curious because I might attempt to run similar pressures on that little roller wheel.

Anyone have any good experience with these things and running a run count up into the 300-400 run mark at close to 900 over the nose with a 1.85+ rocker ratio?

Thanks guys

They are good.

For what you are doing I like the .904 stuff better. I'm only .825 lift and went .904.

Thanks for the input......Now I'm curious if I went to the .904 lifter and knowing the wheel or roller is bigger how much does that increase my duration of my current camshaft?

Obviously all numbers are approx.
An increase to an .810" roller wheel from the standard .750" wheel will increase duration .8 degrees at .020" lift, 1.3 degrees at .050" lift and 1.7 degrees at .200" lift.

An .850" roller wheel almost doubles those numbers and a full 1.00" roller wheel really pops that valve open.

We are running the .842 lifter...still. I would have liked to go the .904, 55mm cam. Hopefully next rebuild.

We are running the ISKY EZRoll Max. 1000 lbs PAC springs.

Hope to be on the dyno next month. Hoping for 2hp/cube. We'll see.

Think so. Waiting for the CV-1's to comeback from Jesel and we can assemble it all.

Any thoughts about Slowbird's deal with the Crower bushed lifters? I'd like to get away from the needle bearings too since I don't drive my car that much.

Thanks!

What rocker ratio are you running and are you running over .850 on lift?

I hope you hit that 2hp per ci that would be sweet!

If mine hits 1.8 per I'd be doing back flips! But in all reality I'm just trying to assemble a 535 using nice parts, and want it to to live for 200-250 passes( before I roll a new set of plugs in it,new springs, new rings and bearings). When I take it to the dyno it's to get the fuel right and find a happy place with timing and LOL maybe find the"Denver Tune up"

LOL your killin me! Sounds like you need to get ahold of Dennis @ DRE.I wish I would've gone with the .904's also but I already have the nice .842's and I just got told by My wife, that she wants her living room floor back so it sounds like I need to chit or get off the pot on this new motor and start assembling it.......now I just need to order some rockers and a oil pan and probably some pushrods.

I am running 1.9 on both. Cam is somewhere around .850" lift, I know it isn't over .900". The Tigers still have some left in it. These only flow 444 cfm. I too, am just looking for reliability and consistency. This is a T/S bracket motor.

This motor will be a 535 as compared to the 527 in my sig. The 527 was never dyno'd, but I figure it was about 1020 HP, based on the weight and mph.
We found a few "issues" with the 527, so we probably had left some HP on the table. We added the right cam and a few other goodies to the new 535, so we will be close to the 2 HP/cube. I know it is a high expectation given the head flow, so we will see how close we get.
