Default Preferred kick panel installation sealant/method

I'm getting ready to install kick panels in my 76 TA...

What would be the recommended sealant and installation method?

Done them in the past but don't recall what I used or how successful I was..

Any input is appreciated..

Plumber's putty. Form it into a roll and lay it around the opening over the screw holes. Install the panel, and press lightly around the vent opening until it appears uniform.
