I was kinda wanting to avoid epoxy in this case because I'll probably be painting small areas at a time which makes the mixing kind of difficult. But if necessary I could wait and do the whole thing at once.

I've used these for epoxy touchups many times. Since the bottle is marked like a measuring cup it's pretty easy to keep the ratios right when using small portions. Good for those accidental sand-throughs.

I should probably just get used to mixing small amounts of epoxy primer, I've done it a few times for painting equipment, and I've got a couple of good detail guns.

By the way, the gray primer in the photo is Rustoleum self etching primer ... I went to remove some of it for additional welding and that stuff is tough, I was very impressed.
