Default Sending unit ground

Hey, I'm just wondering if there is a specific place for my fuel sending unit to be grounded. Cause all I hear when I turn her over is the fan spinning but then again I am a newbie.

It's typically grounded to the underside of the trunk floor pans, just above the fuel tank, but I am confused about your entire question.

The fuel sender in the tank is grounded from the factory with a single wire to the chassis sheet metal by the trunk. If you have installed an electric fuel pump sender, you will still need to ground it.

I'm talking about the sending unit right below the carb. Under the water outlet I think my dad and I got the sending unit in the tank good when we did the tank a couple of years ago plus last time we did try to start her she was getting fuel to her. But keep in mind that this was a couple of years back.

I still can't tell what you mean. There's no "sending unit" under the carb and water neck. There's the water pump. There's the fuel pump further down on the driver side of the engine. But none of that is electrical. So, can you explain what this "sending unit" is supposed to be for on your engine? What is it supposed to do?

Okay. That makes a big difference, since the Olds oil pressure sender is different from the Pontiac. But, the Olds oil sender unit is grounded just by being screwed into the engine. Don't use any teflon tape on the threads where it screws in, since that could interfere with the grounding. The wire that should be plugged onto the oil sender is blue.
