Default Doug Nash Plenum Dimensions

Tom V. asked me for the top plenum dimensions for the Doug Nash/Warrior Tunnel Ram Intake. I took photos and measurements for those who may want to know what they are. Have 32 pics and will add them down the line in separate posts due to space limitations. So, pics 1-5 here.

Pic 01 uses a tape measure for an actual height dimension. The photo with the ruler are all off by 1/16th of an inch due to the design of the ruler which has a 1/16th space between the edge and where the actual scale line increments start. I noted this on all the photos showing the height of the top section going from the highest point at the rear and tapering at an angle down to the front.

Pics 02-07 show the incline/drop from rear to front.

Pic 08 is the carb stud spacing on the side, ie linkage side of carb, approx 5 5/8" carb stud center-to-center. The side-to-side, ie front/back side of the carb, approximately 5 1/8" carb stud center-to-center measurement.

Pic 09 is the carb base width, side-to-side, 5 1/4"

Pics 10-14 show the distances from the carb plate holes to the side. They are not evenly centered by any means. I did not do the front, but they are no better. Diameter of the carb plate hole ranged from 1.67" to 1.69".

Pics 15-16 is the wall thickness on the bottom/base.

Pic 17 is the bottom plenum floor thickness, approx. 11/16"

Pic 18 is the rear carb plate, approx. 9/16"

Pic 19 is a side view showing the Balance Tube.

Pic 20 shows the distance from the base (which is level, not tapered) to the bottom of the tube, approx. 7/8"

Pic 21 shows the distance from the carb plate to the top of the tube, approx. 9/16"

Pic 22 is the carb stud spacing between front and rear carb base, 3 1/2"

Pics 23-25 is the balance tune length and OD dimensions.

Pics 26-32 are the interior of the top section. The bottom has the contoured diffuser in the center to direct airflow down into the ram tubes in pic #32. The top carb plate is just flat/smooth in the center on the under side.

Out of curiosity, I wanted to get an idea of how large the plenum volume was. I measured the rear carb mounting plenum as it is the largest. I blocked off the balance tube with clay and smoothed it to shape. I placed the top on a flat base sealed with vaseline and filled with a measured milliliter container until the water level touched the lower openings of the top carb plate. I held the plenum level to offset the built in taper. I did not fill in the holes at the base to make them level with the plenum chamber and included this area in with the overall final ML reading. The plenum held 825 ML, or 825 CC's. This converts to 50.35 cubic inches. Again, this is the larger rear plenum.
