Default Happy 111th Birthday, Lawrence Brooks!!!

Lawrence Brooks, oldest surviving WWII vet, turned 111 today. Thankfully he lives near the WWII museum. He got a drive by celebration, of sorts.
Lwwrence served with the African American 91st Engineer Battalion!
Job well done!!!

That is Incredible
He would have already been 32 when Pearl Harbor went down.

I wish all the Allied Forces survivors were still alive with him.
If anybody deserved to be immortal it was those guys
Especially my Grandaddy

111 years..that is incredible. I wonder if he's the same guy I saw in an interview some years ago at about 103 years old. If it's the same guy, he was of course asked what his secret to long life was. He said he smoked a cigar and had a shot of bourbon every day...but sometimes, he'd skip the cigar...lol.

I bet that man has some stories to tell, both in and out of the military. I'd be happy with just 100 years
Hope he lives to 150.

My wife's grandmother will turn 110 in February...good genes.

I'm confident that my wife will outlive me.
