I don't think that dimension is ever given anywhere. But that lower tube (not the one in the pan) is repopped also an may be sold to cover a number of years. My 66 parts book says the lower tube from 59-65 is 518117. Once you get to 66 it is a different number. So how far a repop sticks out of the block on any given year may be just a guess. I suppose the best way is to put the new part on, fill it with the proper amount of oil and check the stick. Adjust the tube accordingly.
