Well, the Black Car made it home. Darrell was kind enough to bring the car down to me this weekend. Seeing it outside and in the garage with better lighting than at MCACN was like seeing it for the first time. I am still pinching myself wondering if it is real. I talked Darrell into spending the night and we had a great time talking and telling stories. I even fixed him a steak dinner and then breakfast before sending him home this morning. What a talented guy.

Hah, and I am thinking about what comes next. If I don’t start tearing something else apart soon I’ll surely be in a newspaper or magazine in a bad way....

She sure is a thing of beauty, Bob. You should be proud.
Any time you need to make room for that next project you give me a call and I'll take the Black Beauty back in a Detroit minute. What on Earth could you possible want to do next? Something with an actual frame? Big Pontiac or maybe a vintage truck? I know....an SD455-powered Aztek! I dare ya! |

Thanks for all the kind words. I really appreciate them. Here’s a link to an Autoblog article on MCACN that gives the Black Car a special shout out. Pretty Cool.
https://www.autoblog.com/2017/12/02/...ound-ab-tile-2 I’m not sure about a next project. The Green Truck needs completely detailed under the hood, the Yellow Hemi needs the engine rebuilt, I’ve got a complete 455HO driveline for an A body.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I like the way you are thinking.
71 or 72? Stick or auto? The car in my avatar is originally a Sundance 72 455 HO GTO.

Car is a 72 Formula 455HO 4 speed, similarly equipped as the black car, with some minor option differences. Most notable, the color, it has a blower rear defroster, rear bumper guards and vinyl roof. It was at the TA Nationals this year, so you can scan the vids from there to see a picture. There was an amateur restoration back in the 80's, so it has some issues, but it's a decent 20 footer.

Glad to hear that the black car is finally home Bob! Looks good in the stable with the rest of the herd. I like the picture with the original hood on the wall in the background. Looking forward to your next project!
