Does anyone know what color the base of the grills should be for a 1965 GTO. The grills I am working with looks like someone painted them Blue
like the car but I think I think they should be black? Or not painted at all.

I think around the outside is supposed to be flat black and the inside argent silver.

Do a search for "Grille paint". This was discussed at lenght last spring and there are so really good posts here.

I AM REDOING MY ORIGINAL GRILLS TODAY. THE "GRILL" PART IS SATIN BLACK(NOT FLATBLACK) .The inside perimeter is argant(a silver color) and the rim at the front and the outside is chrome.

Do you have a paint code for the argant. Is it the same argant used on the rally wheels.
