I have a a troubling question. I have a recently changed rearends and converters in my '68. It now has a 4:10 rear with 3800 stall, but it revs so high (approx 4000 rpm) going 70 mph that I am worried what will happen at the track as far as the RPM at the end of the track. I had a 2:78 rear with a 2500 stall before. The engine was fully rebuilt last year and has 500 miles on it and I don't want to blow the engine. Thanks.

That gear will be shifting around 50-5200 rpm. Good for for high winding Chevy smallblock but could be detrimental for big torqey Yac's. My 3.73 shifts at 4800 and crosses the line at 4800, 400 .030, 2500 stall, Q-jet.,,4.10 gears, may be, better in 1/8 mile.

That gear is going to scream cruising down the highway at 70 MPH. Additionally, the converter might not be fully coupled at part throttle going 70 MPH. It may couple fine going through the traps over 100 MPH. Race converters/gears are a fun compromise on the street.
