Default First Gen Firebird 4 speed console?

Do you guys have plans to repro the 67-69 Firebird 4 speed console? Originals are prohibitively expensive, poor quality and are hard to find.

Thanks,
FB

The consoles are supposedly being worked on. However, no date on completion.

I know classic industries is working on one I really don;t know why they list them in the catalog before they are ready to go.

That's the problem--several vendors have them in their catalogs so I don't wont to pay the price people want for an original one that you will have to spend even more money on to restore. The way my luck goes on these kind of things, the minute I do this they will finally really get done with the reproduction.

With all the parts I have left over you could put one together. The only thing is the burlwood pieces are painted black. You interested?

Hi guys,
I just called the manufacturer on this console the other day. I was told "2-3 months yet". Hopefully that's the truth....

I wouldn't get too excited. I've called Classic Ind a couple of times and always get the 2 to 3 months story. Now if you called the manufacturer, that may be a different story.

Wasn't the first gen Cramo consoles mfg & wholesaled thrugh OEM-Classic?

I remember years ago when these came out & our local overpriced big boy Cramo-Chvelle parts store had two of these repro Cramo consoles on a display inside one of their big plate glass windows. Didn't take long for them to heat warp! Just another testament to crap parts!

Default Still waiting

Called Classic Industries again the other day. They say "still in tooling", expect it to be another 4-6 months". Not sure what the real story is.

I lost a bid for one of these 68-69 consoles go for $207 a few weeks back on ebay. I was expecting it to go for more. I just can't justify bidding way over $200 for a complete 4 speed console where all I need is the burlwood panel with the 4 speed opening to convert my existing auto tranny console.

Rebuilding a console is actually not difficult i find it easier to do. But then again I strip off the burlwood and paint the top part of the console
