Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't all Pontiac cranks forged overseas? I thought they were forged there and then most companies finish machining them here.

So far yes. That's why I asked if this one was also an overseas forging like the rest.

If they wanted to sell a bunch of cranks, make them fully counter weighted like the BBC guys get for 800-900$. Instead of of a version like the Scat,Eagle ect.

I bought one of their 3” main/4” stroke 4340 cranks on BF to stash. It was $525 shipped so figured a good deal as not much more than an aftermarket cast crank.
Received it yesterday

I can take pics this weekend-
I don’t have micrometer though. I do have a dial caliper from Harbor Fright...not sure it’s large enough.

Keep us informed. I noticed they have a note about tight clearances on the rod journals.
Maybe someone could comment on how big of a deal that could be. Murf Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Are you buying direct from Speedmaster or a vendor?

I bought one a while back. Same story. It wasn't perfect either so I'd pass on these right now. Speedmaster tells me they're getting their cranks together with the next run. We'll check them out but we're a very satisfied Molnar Dealer.

What issues did you find with the one you purchased?

Same, advertised as Pontiac rod journals but came with BBC journals. This crank was slightly bent with the center main having .0005 runout. Like I said, word is they are improving quality on future runs. I'll check them out down the road.
My Molnar cranks are dead on and packaged WAY better!

id accept 0.0005" vee-block runout. Geez a finger push puts it in spec right?
Might be able to polish-out 0.0005" on the lump-side huh |
