Crossmember?
Hello guys,
Making progress, tranny tunnel and ladder bar coilover kit fabrication complete I am contemplating in bolting the cross member to clean up and paint..... 1. Unnecessary step? 2. Is it a direct unbolt, bolt back in or is it shimmer or spacers used? The car only has 40k original miles and the front end is tight, drove straight with out any vibrations. Thanks for your input |

front crossmember
If the car has never been in a fender bender, the crossmember will unbolt and bolt right back in. Simple process.

There is a "hex" shaped spacer about 1/4" thick at the rear bolt on each side between the frame and crossmember. (Don't lose one of them!)
Are you doing any de-rusting of the crossmember? Because I was doing all new bushings, tie rod ends, springs, etc. I unbolted mine and de-rusted it by the "electrolysis" method using a plastic garbage can, then sandblasting inside and out. |

Crossmember
Hi Doug,
I’m super lucky, this car is completely rust free, I’ll only have to lightly dust it. Made a booth around the car in my garage so I can dust blast underneath before paint, just to clean it up. |
