Without A.I.R. (Smog) and/or Air Condition the heater hose bracket was attached to the front of the RH cylinder head and was painted black.

With A.I.R. and/or Air Condition the long heater hose was secured to the RH inner fender with a small U shaped bracket.

Chris.

Was the bolt natural color or painted the engine color for the bracket attached to the RH cylinder head ?

The heater hose “bracket” was one of the components involved in the finale “dress out” of the engines.

Depending on the year and assembly plant that “bolt” could have been engine paint color or natural.

First pic - Baltimore built 65, engine color.
Second pic - Pontiac built 67, natural.
