Yes, and Addison Pontiac Buick GMC used to be right downtown and was very well known. I believe that they’ve been reduced to nothing but a leasing company now.

And a few from the mid to late 70's. All from the web, but the 1st one I took at the long gone Tri-City Dragway in Freeland MI.

Thumbs up Go Fast Goodies photo shoot...

...Neat image from the 1967 GM ad shown below.
I like that the lager percentage of go fast parts are Pontiac!
And since they included a Cammer it fits this post.

There is one (or maybe six) pieces missing from the picture Jeff.

From the deep recesses of the internet

Seriously I don't recall, whenever time allows I will sit with my coffee and poke around many obscure sites just to see whats behind the curtain.

The large 8x10 GM Photographic slides are really cool, especially when you place them on a light table.

These are probably re-posts, but what the heck, never hurts to post more Pontiac pics...

I call that Tempest with Plate #8180 the MULE, it is one of the earliest loaners.
It can be seen in several road test articles of the day.
I'll bet when it was all said and done that little Tempest was worn out

Test for Jeff:

Jeff have you figured out why a car like mine 1966 base Tempest has the radio antenna on the front passenger side fender and I see others with it on the rear
passenger side fender.

Any reason or rhyme for the difference?????????

I'm sure you will come up with the answer if you haven't figured it already.

And it's okay to lie to me........my wife does it all the time but the other readers may like to hear the truth................

Thanks as always,
AZ

It most cases when a Loaner/testing car was offered out to magazine editors and/or clubs Pontiac was wise to make sure that most of these cars had the best offerings.

This was all about marketing, Basically get Joe Public to see these little details and hope they would check that box when ordering.
Now you might ask why not just show/loan a Lemans?,
its in my opinion that Pontiac realized the hook was a "low cost" base Tempest with hopefully good reviews from all the Test Drive reports that would get you in the door,
then Joe Salesman would work you over on upgrades.

Cool The Most ICONIC OHC ENGINE IMAGE

This image has to be one most every OHC 6 fan has seen before.
One of the OHC SPRINT 6 Auto Show Display/Promotional Engines.
Used in several ads and/or magazine articles.

This shot comes from inside the Performance Brochure.
