If I remember correctly that 4-cyl is what that car came with so why can you not simply take the wire directly to the coil?
No . I have my own wire ran directly from the MSD box to the tach.

My car is a 1964 lemans it never came with a 4 cyl as far as i know, so it wouldnt have that resistor. But maybe i can get one of those babys to fix my problem?

We are not talking a couple of cars we are talking bus lengths difference in "The Gap".

Plus Charlie like to be different. His engine has a race turbo and fuel injection on it.
The picture he posted is a carbed 4 cylinder Pontiac engine.

Yeah you're right . I just figured id show the engine ..

I have to say though Tom, you are right on the money with what you discribed on my engine..

Thanks...

I've never had occasion to use one, so I have no actual knowledge. I just did a search to see if there was such a device, and came up with that. The seller says he will E mail you help if you have any problems during install. That's abut all I can offer.

Been a long time but I think I used to get them with an MSD HEI kit?
I can look and see if I have one.

Easy fix, will need to be recalibrated. Anyone with a square wave generator with the proper dwell and an accurate frequency counter can do this

Don't hook it up "direct to coil". The MSD kicks out 480V to the coil.

Charles what ucu are you using? Will it send a tach out signal? If so there should be settings that tell the tach out your firing four cylinders.
