Default Is This an Edelbrock Performer

I've had this in the garage for 20 years. Somebody before me ground the markings. Don't think I never ran it. Used to run the Street Dominator, but I must have sold it as I can't find it. Car is a 455 with stock intake. Is there any benefit if I switch? Thinking of switching for no reason other than it's aluminum (cooler).

Mike a Performer is a far better Intake then that in terms of fuel distribution per cylinder, ( so its average power is better) but peaks out power wise on 455 between 5200 and 5400 rpm which for your 3.08 geared Bird will work well and is a very hard Intake to beat with stock iron heads!

If you do not mind the weight of a iron intake then they make a tad more peak HP then the Performer will, but with your rear gears the weight gain almost makes the power gain a wash!

If you're using a square bore carb I would. There isn't another manifold out there that will feel faster, you already have it and it gives a vintage look.

I did notice there is no choke. I'm running a Quadrajet with the stock choke stove, so that Edelbrock isn't going to help unless I buy a different choke...and I'm not at this time. Thanks again!
