Space between dash and A-pillar
Not sure if I am describing this right, but there is a bit of a gap between the end of my dash and the A-pillar cover (I think that’s what it is called) on the driver side of dash. Is this normal?

Normal, if ugly. There was originally a clear filler piece there, #20105596.

hope you don't mind me jumping on this thread with a somewhat related question:
the 2 inch (or so) metal trim piece that runs the length of the roof from the A pillar to the rear has come loose on my 71 towards the middle & back & my 71 fisher body manual doesn't seem to show how they are attached....anyone know? you'll see it here in post #8 on this thread...the seatbelt rides just above it.. http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...d.php?t=817679 Last edited by tdavidl; 10-05-2020 at 01:26 PM. |

No, not even used. They crumbled to white powder on day 2. They are simply an insulator, that slides over the end, possibly to prevent noises when flexing. You could add rubber channel sleeve instead, not original but also hides what's inside that gap.

That looks interesting. Where can that be purchased and could I paint it to match interior color?

None of the 70 models I've owned over the years had that part. Perhaps something that was used on cars built later in the 70s?

I believe it was installed on the a pillars as a sub assy just for shipping the parts or cars.

Never on a 70, others can speak beyond that
