Rim diameter is irrelevant for ride height if you don't know what tyre profile you are going to use, but as mentioned, rim diameter may decide what options are available. A 27" tyre on a 18" rim fills the guards as much as a 27" tyre on a stock 15" rim.

I know this. The reason i seek a wider wheel and tire, is firstly for traction purposes, then looks.
I got a setup ordered from ptfb. I will install all of it the see where i am at and then make changes where i feel i need them. Thanks

To many of us stance will make or break the look so a lot of time and research is done prior to making the decision and we should put the effort in because these are generally not cheap mods and the parts don’t just install themselves.

The combo on this stance is as follows (I know it’s a later 2nd gen.):

DSE upper/lower front control arms
DSE 650lbs 2” lowered front springs
Rear 250lbs composite mono-leaf on home made perch setup resulting in approx. 3” drop at rear (see pics)
Custom welded frame connectors

For brakes on 17” YO (tires - front 255/45, rear 285/40 each approx. 26”) I managed to squeeze in 13.5” front and 13” rear.

The ride doesn’t feel harsh but because of the long tube headers and 3” exhaust I do need to watch out for double dips in the road.

I am a packrat when it comes to certain things. I stored them away with every other part from this car.

I just changed springs and shocks on my 73' formula, the old ones where eibach (i think) and som unknown brand shocks.
Previous owner have some how FUBAR'ed the springs, by not lining them up in the frame pocket and crushed the indexing fingers, leaving the spring rubbing against the frame.
stock A-arms with bilstein B6 shocks, Ridetech StreetGRIP Lowering Coil Springs – Dual Rate SKU: 11172351 . (i added a metro rubber spring insulator to the top of the springs)
Front tire is 225/60-15
Subframe bushings is ptfb solid ones installed normally (no wedge/lower)
This is how it sits after about a month of driving.

This is my '73 Formula 350 . I had just the rear lowered to give the car a level look. I think the front is only about 5mm lower than the rear now. I'm running 245 45 17s on the front and 295 35 18s on the rear.
