Haha too funny. They supply many shops, go there instead. Half of their ads are inaccurate or incomplete and years of telling them hasn't seen a single one adjusted.

I was banned from Inline for a while because I complained to ebay that they were misusing the term NOS and OEM.

Preach. I bought SS lines and brakes hoses for my '64- all the flares were gouged and the flares would not go into the brakes hoses. The rear hose they sent was also male/female, when it goes between 2 hard lines. Contacted them twice, sent photos RE the rear brake line and they still haven't changed their listing a year later. WTH is this??

Bought the lines from right stuff detail and had a great experience, even had one line that was made a little too short, called them up & with no questions asked they sent out a new line. Few years later I ordered a prop valve for a 2nd gen firebird, needed the early style brake light switch & nobody else had one in stock... inline sent the WRONG PART, was the later year style, called them up & was met with the same unprofessional attitude almost blaming me for ordering the wrong part... had to pay return shipping for their error to get the right one sent out. Will NEVER buy from inline tube or any of their aliases on ebay again. |

When the inline boobs are at a swap, they never bring much. And if they have it, it’s wrong.

What bothers me is some of the stuff I buy from Ames is directly from Inline and or Parts Place. I wish Ames would at least warn us that is where the part is from. I don't shop at those two places for a reason, being their reputation precedes them. I realize that the whole reproduction industriy is interconnected, but at least warn us so we have the opportunity to look elsewhere. I've also bought things from Inline via eBay that I was not satisfied with that they refused to let me return. Not cool at all.

Ames wouldn't tell me which manufacturer they used for some parts I needed. I assumed so that you would not be able to compare prices.

Don't forget you can always dispute things through your credit card company!
As a business I have a great working relationship with Bank of America & even though I have only had to dispute a small amount of things over the 30+ years I have been using their business card, they have always taken care of me when I needed them to! I used inlines stainless lines and they were perfect, I did buy them years ago and they weren’t that big of a company yet. I think they fold them to ship them, that has to be bad.
The one brother is a Pontiac guy, he has 2 Judges, the other brothers are olds guys. They used to put on a nice open house car show once a year but that stopped. Milt was there at the last one, talked with him about an hour. He had his GTO there in the tent.

I was blocked on e bay from buying from them as well, after spending hundreds if not thousands with them they sent me a pair of exhaust pipe clamps that were all rusty, so they said I did the old switcharoo and the pic of the clamps I sent them was not the clamps they sent me so i gave them a neg feedback and they blocked me.
Pathetic!

Wow, didn’t realize they had gone downhill- over 10 years ago I bought a full stainless steel brake line set for my bird from them and it was perfect. It had the soft shipping bend in the long line but that was a non-issue.

It's such a disappointment, seeing companies that were once held in such high esteem, fall to mediocrity.
Inline Tube had a fantastic reputation, magazine staff used them on project cars and loved their products. How the mighty can fall. I guess some could be put down to new owners, I've experienced that one, myself. I needed a gearbox shop to install a bug*ar of a rubber mount in my '99 WRX RA and went to a place that hadf a fantastic reputation. As soon as I drove in, I could tell the first owner had retired and sold the shop, unfortunately to idiots. They mangled the sill (I guess you call them rockers?) on their lift. I told my insurance company and they took them to court. These people denied ever seeing,me or my car and undertaking any work on it. In court. The only evidence I had was the receipt from them, my insurance co. lawyers pulled that out, after these fools denied all knowledge, after seeing that, they admitted to working on my car and crushing one sill. Straight up perjury. |

This is good to know. I hate to complain, but sometimes it’s necessary. I usually fabricate my own lines but have thought about purchasing from them for longer assemblies. Another reason I’m glad I joined this forum.

Inline Tube has some good parts. You just have to be sure you're ordering the right ones since its almost impossible to return anything with them

I recently replaced all the brake lines on my 2nd gen. with the inline tube stuff. All of the lines required minor tweaking. The only real difficulty was with the rear lines. The right side required a bit more tweaking to use it. The left side would have taken too much tweaking so I bent my own. They refunded me the cost of those two lines. I am not enthusiastic, but just satisfied.

I heard rumor that Inline was bought out. Not saying who.

That is actually interesting. If I had to guess, I am guessing a company out of Ohio. But I don't see any substance to the rumor just yet.
