Does anyone know where to buy the light bulb socket for the roof rail lights?
Mine is split in two, I've tried gluing it twice, but it just keeps breaking. Here is a picture: Thanks.

Have you thought about buying a repop dome light and gutting it for the parts you need?
Also go to an LED bayonet bulb to cut down on heat

No Cammer I haven't thought about that. The socket on the driver side was broken in two from the heat of the bulb and then it fell and was touching the light cover and slightly melted it. I replaced both light covers because they were yellowing and were cracking too. I was hoping to find another socket but the same problem may occur again. I will look into what you suggested.

the LEDs will help a lot with the heat but may change the color of light
Perhaps a pale yellow filter over the LED bulb will make the color closer to incandescent

I guess you meant bulb. I'm not sure if it's the original one or not, but the car was built in Dec. 1966.

Ignore the housing, the insert looks the same as every other dome light of the 60's and 70's and the rest, just have to find one that has the removable insert, not cast as part of the housing.

Having said that, more and more these days are part of the same casting and simply have the terminals mounts masked off when chromed. But they do still exist.

heat and age causes the spring clips to lose tension
which then leads to a loose connection and creates more heat.
Replacing the plastic is only a bandaid you need new metal too.

I gave the part to a coworker who does 3-d printing, but he thought it was too hard to get the measurements, so he gave up.
