Default Check this 301 on a CHEVY!!!

So I was at the local car show and this Studebaker pulls in. I make my way over and see its turbo charged. I say out loud that it looks like a 301 Turbo off of a Trans Am. The guy says that I was the only one ever that knew that.

So here it is a 301 turbo on a tunnel ram small block Chevy with the 4 cylinders firing the turbo. Guy said that it hauls ass...

Well,,,,, it's different. Personally I would have liked it better had it been below a stock hood. But, to each their own.

X2, I had one, pitched it, got tired of tripping over it.
Could see nothing but agony if I tried to use it, somehow...

That semi regulated gas leak on top of the plenum (translation: Holley carb) might be the way to go. I even thought of using one, darn sure won't ever get overly lean...

I test drove a 81 turbo T/A. It had NO power. I even went to a gas station and put some gas in it, the salesman asked what I was doing. I told him I wanted to make sure of the cars perfromance, they only kept a small amount of gas in the tank, in case of a sale...I was like knocking on the door, but nobody was home...LOL

I thought that this was a good idea. I mean get two of these setups for one car. Make a pure poncho turbo..

Oh well

I personally think the stock 301 turbo setup with its small outlet for intake adapted to my one barrel intake on a 63 Tempest 8.6:1 slant 4 cylinder would be a good fit. Add 1.65 rockers to kick up stock cam lift and one the barrel hole on the 4 cylinder manifold is close to the size of the outlet on the 301 adapter thing.

Why are people so mean to Studebakers? I'm sure it hauls an "ass" or two! But since it drove in under it's own power, you have to give some credit...some people will do anything to a motor.
