I'm getting way ahead of the game but figured I might as well start thinking about my exhaust system and I have LOTS of questions! Since I want my car to be mostly stock appearing I'll be using manifolds. BUT, I want as much power as possible without the car being much noisier than stock. Who markets the best repop round port manifolds? Are they available with a 2 1/2" outlet? Can anyone anywhere near Houston, TX mandrel bend good quality 2 1/2" head pipes? I'd like to use stock appearing and near stock sounding oval mufflers with 2 1/2" inlets and 2 1/4" outlets. I'll buy repop 2 1/4" tail pipes and repop side splitters for a stock appearance.

Thanks in advance for your advice!
Lloyd

LLoyd,

Just went through similar exhaust mods on an 81 TA I put together with D ports. Ram Air can make the outlets 2 1/2 for about another $50.00 on any of their manifolds. I did have a little problem getting the head pipes to seal. The 2 1/2" opening leaves less meat to seal to. Torque Technology makes a 2 1/2" mandrel down pipe for the HO/RA manifolds that fit well for A and F bodies. They are just the down pipe that is a 90 degree bend. They then connect to head pipes. They also make a mandrel head pipe to go back to the mufflers. They also have mandrel tail pipes that could probably have tips added to them.

I have a 2 1/2" set of head pipes I was going to send back as I went with a 3" on that project. I'll let you have them for their cost if you want(I was going to send them back for credit).
