Knowing that Steve was suffering for quite a while and that he was doing his best to mask the pain and to keep moving forward is not a challenge we are all up for. Steve showed us how it was done. In his final moments may he rest with no pain while we remember how strong of a man he was.

Sorry to see this report although we knew it was coming.... Prayers for the Hoog family.

I was mostly impressed by how Steve LIVED his final years after the diagnosis. Time well spent with family and friends and relationships. The things that truly matter. The strength of character Steve displayed was remarkable.

Thoughts and prayers for Steve and his entire family. Hope that the Good Lord welcomes him home sooner rather than later.

The way he fought the good fight and lived his life with cancer should be an inspiration to all of us.

Godspeed Steve . . .

So sad. I know most of us never got to meet him up close and personal, but we all consider him a close friend. This is like losing a family member. He will be missed by all everywhere. God Bless him, and his family and friends.

Have a safe and peaceful journey to those Pearly Gates Steve. Someday we'll all meet in the Great Beyond.

My condolences to his family and friends.

This once again hits too close to home...but like Mike Nixon, Steve has been far braver than any decent man should have to be. Godspeed...

I was trying to think of how to put similar thoughts down when I read this. Couldn't put it any better. He is an incredibly brave soul.
Prayers go out to the entire family.
