you are all wrong that was a different year,

like i said Norwalk gets us with something simple every time. first year at Norwalk with my 440 had a small issue but ran all weekend and found it when we got home lucky it do more damage.. 2 bent push rods,

but the year lil jack smaced dude was the first year with the 477 ci. and is the year of the moeskeeito killer. Brian you were there, tom, and several others

another year we bought new tires, didnt check them close enough, and driving 2 miles to get down the quarter only ran 4 8.60 passes all weekend. lil Jack red lighted in his race against me, turns out we were sold tires that were almost 3/4" different in diameter. Mike Davis found that one.

the year the shootout rented the track all week was when the cap and rotor button got us.

I remember now. Pulled the cap and the carbon button inside was worn to the nub. I don't know how it was working at all, as it created another gap for the voltage to jump across. Told Ray he should run the solid button (I think they're copper or sintered bronze) but then I told him a bunch of things he should be doing that weekend...like running a Moroso style thermostat housing that places the radiator cap there, so we wouldn't have to "burp" the cooling system between rounds because the cap on the radiator was not the highest point in the system.

You were always telling Ray things at Norwalk, like where your gas cap was...

That was a memorable funny watching Ray and Larry Davis run around the back of my car, trying to find where to put the gas in, when I was running round-robin through 7 rounds of eliminations before losing.

Larry "Where do you put your fuel in?"

Me "Same f**king place you and Ray put yours in on your T/A's !!!"

Those guys were great, once we went round-robin, I didn't have to get out of the car...they took care of fuel and bottle swaps.

On a side note, and this should piss off quite a few people about the current price of gasoline...I won $75 for making it to the 1/4 finals that day...those $75 were just about all I had left in my pocket (maybe $15 more for food), and that $75 was enough to get me home to Baltimore which was 420 miles (stopping once for gas).

The gas tank story is right up there with CobraBill getting (or not getting) his hair wet at the waterpark.

And Mongo's Hot Tub adventure.

LOL...I remember, and I didn't shut it off after that.

Bill Weyrich comes up to me in the staging lanes, somewhere around the 4th round, and asks me if I'm having overheating issues with it idling like that between rounds...in 90 degree heat. Told him "Nope...got the biggest aluminum radiator I could squeeze in here, with two electric fans, and the Mezierre pump...it'll idle all day at around 180-185 and climb to about 200 on a pass, then drop back to about 185 coming up the return road". No Scirroco radiator for me.

Keefer bet me a pound of ice cream that I wouldn't dunk Bill on the lazy river at Cedar Point. When he came up, there wasn't a hair out of place. Had some sort of industrial strength "The Dry Look" on his hair. Remember that stuff? My father used that in the 70's.

our only good run was dq"ed due to a tire problem. we plugged a nitrous jet and burned up number 5. we tore it down and put a piston in it and qualified but the cylinder was tore up too so it wouldnt seal and hurt it again in the next pass we ran the thing on 7 but got by. be in Norwalk in 2 weeks. Lil jack if you really think you got some ***** you can bring it and play but they got rules tires and stages so if you think you can hang with me bring it I got the ice cream. any of you guys burned a piston you'd be on your way home crying except for maybe kinsler, we pulled all nighters and made the next round and won that round hurt. like I said norwalk in 2 weeks half way between us if you got 7.90s youll be at the top of the class and can win a few grand in contingencey and cash

Engine ran fine until n2o was added.
Believe it was a solid.

Agree on the cap deal, Ray never listened
