1967 GTO 400 H.O. For sale. $17,500.
1967 Pontiac GTO H.O. 360 HP Automatic. 1 of only 13,827 produced with the H.O. engine. PHS documented ALL NUMBERS MATCH DRIVETRAIN . 26k actual miles as documented on clean and clear PA. Title in my name. Needs restoration. Will need rust repair. Fenders, doors and quarters are solid. Engine runs really good, trans shifts good and 3.55 posi works like it should. Runs, drives and stops. Great candidate for a frame off restoration. Signet gold with black Cordova top and gold interior. Call or text Me for more pictures or if you have any questions. 570-498-0756

Frame question
What happened to the frame, is that frame rot in the first pic?
Did it sit on the ground or in a damp place?

Typical rust from PA, I lived there for 48 years and worked on cars as my profession. If a car of that age was on the road for 10-15 years the frames looked like that one does. Salt and mud gets in there and lays on the metal, in 6-7 years combined with the moisture in the air, it's either thin, or rusted completely through.
Rust belt, is called rust belt, for a reason. |

Can you drive it like that or do you have to repair it?

In OH where I now live you could legally drive it, because there is no state inspection. When I lived in PA, the state inspection mechanic would have caught that, and wouldn't issue you a sticker because of it. That may be why the car was parked years ago, it would no longer pass state inspection. Issuing a sticker to a car like that could put you in prison if someone died from an accident related the that frame.
I would not drive it like that because at least 25% of the frame is missing, it's significantly weaker in that area and is susceptible to cracking, or breaking. It can be repaired by a proficient welder/fabricator, but it will never look factory as it previously did. The whole frame is probably weakened from rust and corrosion, even though you can't see it. Ideally a rust free frame sourced from the south west would be the answer, hence the reason the OP mentioned frame off restoration. |

Yes the frame is rotted. I was told the car sat in a barn for some years. I am actually in the process of repairing the frame. I will post pictures when the repairs are done.
