Not a personal best, but thought y'all might finally want to see a track vid with the new engine....35% leakdown in 2 cylinders and all.

I screwed up the burnout, but corrected. Otherwise ok...except the red light. The car responds so quickly, I wasn't used to it! Leaving on last amber no longer valid for me.

#3830 with me in it. I need to lose some weight!

I got new rings for it...will rering in Jan/Feb timeframe.

Looks like I gotta change my signature again.

Thumbs up NED

Hey Mark, great video- you're looking good! I see Dan got you through tech, Rich in the burnout box, Travis checking you out- and you even have Labranche taking pics and giving you thumbs up!

Thanks Bill! Im glad I didn't need your services, (car was flawless) but kept your number handy just in case! Piece of mind was comforting if something bad happened.

I gotta tell ya, you work with some really nice folks. How anyone can give NED a 1 star review is beyond me. (we were having a laugh reading them on the way up..people are dopes)

I didn't know it was Dan in tech, but he didn't ding me on the blanket and shield....told me about it, but was ok without having to mention your conversation with him. (but I did anyway, not knowing it was Dan)

Rich was great. I was worried being rusty Id screw up the box, but his signals were consistent and familiar. He was talking to my crew guy during some downtime and said he was really impressed with my car. That made my day. For someone who sees thousands of these cars a year, that's a heck of a compliment.

And Mark on the camera; we spent some time talking in the pits. Great guy. Good advice and hes got some cool cars himself.

Fantastic day due to good people, good weather and you know... drag racing!!!

I'll close out this thread with some pics taken of the car during the track rental.

Love the wheels up shot! Very nice pic!
Mark L is a pretty good camera guy. He came to my company back in the early 2000s as a candidate for an engineering tech position I needed to fill. We started talking, and after I asked him to tell me a little bit about himself- he mentioned he raced a bike at NED. We spent the rest of the interview talking about racing. At the end of the interview I told him he was hired. We've been friends ever since.

Mark, question for you- did you sell a white 1973 Grand Am to a guy from NH back in 1990 or so?

Great story. Done many tech interviews myself and I generally look for fit and attitude rather than knowledge. Those folks seem to jive better on my teams.

Nope, wasn't me - never owned a GA to sell. Had a Florentine Red 73 GTO that sadly went to scrap when I was done taking off what was good and the only other was a Porcelain Blue 73 LeMans also only good for parts.
