BAT '70 T/A
I am amazed this car was bid to... and sold for $80,000 + 5% sellers fee. Nice car but there are several things that are incorrect. I guess this makes mine worth even more.

WOW!!!
that's crazy! Good for the seller! I got an email alert, and looked at it early on; It apparently went from $5k to $30 in twenty-five minutes, so that was an indicator to me that it was going to get good money, but wow!!!

For all the things that had to be bought for this car, it must have been a basket case at the start of refurb.
On the list of items bought is "engine restamper"! Hmmmm. May be "numbers matching but not original parts to the car. And,........heads casting date newer than the cars final assembly date. IMHO, waaaay to much money for what's there. |

Or just too much money and not bothered by what they see as minor details.

More than just a few minor details. There are some major and expensive things wrong here.

That's a lot of cash for a car with incorrect parts.
That said, it's still extremely good looking.

In this current environment. It shows strength in what a person will spend to buy a 70 TA.
I have heard by many who restore it takes real money to buy these cars, buy correct parts, and restore these cars. I also heard when they sell a restored 70-72 TAs are break even at best. Nice to see Some profit margins in today’s market.

From what i could "gather"
the winning bidder - implied his father bought this car when new at the dealership in Kentucky. That would impact his bidding. Not sure what exactly impacted the competing bidders at that level though. Maybe spite, or sport shilling, idunno Most of the short-comings were pointed out before it ended. So they knew Engine Stamp Kit was most likely the OK-3 yellow ink stamp kit used on the passenger side cylinder head. Carb was a hard to find Early Production 69 Ram3 unit. Somewhat semi-comparable league to a 0273 |

Good point. Could very well have been that instead of block restamper, as I was thinking.
