Default Battery Holddown Clamp

I just bought an new battery for my 66 gto that is the replacement for the R59 battery and the current battery hold down is too narrow for it.
Parts store says it is the correct replacement.
My question what model holder do I need to look for? The current one is roughly 14/"-1/2" too narrow.
Any suggestion's ?

Thanks

If you have the correct bracket AND the correct battery it will work. I always use AC/Delco batteries in my old Pontiacs and I've never had a problem. Some retailers (Autozone, Advance, etc.) sell batteries that will hook up and work with the application but are not exactly the same dimensions.
