Default Connecting Amp to Battery with Spring Terminals

Hi all,

I have the original style spring battery cables, but would like to connect an amplifier battery cable to the positive side of the battery. Unfortunately the spring terminals do not have any provision for this, and I don't really want to cut off my spring terminal and replace it with something non-stock.

Does anyone have a suggestion for how this can be accomplished? Ideally I could find an adaptor that replicated the battery post. I could then attach a modern connector to the battery, along with the amp wire, and then attach my spring cable to the second post. Haven't been able to find this.

I see some quick disconnect fittings on ebay which replicate the post, but they say they should only be used on the negative terminal, and I assume I can't power an amp from the negative terminal.

Thanks for your ideas!

Connect the amplifier lead to the other end of the positive battery cable?

Thanks - yeah, thought of that. My car has the ram air setup so the positive battery cable goes through a tube by the motor mount. Its a total *itch to get that thing squared away. I'd like to avoid messing with it if possible. Plus, just running the amp wire through the tube - its not heat insulated, I suspect the amp wire would melt.

I wonder if I could just clamp it to the side of the battery terminal itself. - e..g use something like a radiator hose clamp.

Possibly the use of a dual post battery.
This would allow you to use the SR cables on the top post and then add on whatever via the side post ?
Just a thought.

There is an aftermarket option to keep the original ends:

Amazon sells the basic part for $20, and you'd most likely need to buy the brass post added to that price:

Connect it to the output terminal of the alternator.
