1966 LeMans dome light issue
The dome light does not come on when either door is opened. It does work when I turn the headlight switch, so the fuse and bulb are ok. Has anyone experienced this, or have any suggestions? Thanks

The headlight switch grounds the circuit so the issue is likely flaky grounds at the jam switches.
Let's see this car!

Ok, thanks much! I'll check the ground at both jamb switches. Are they up underneath the dash?

Mounted in the door jams, those little button thingys.
And that car has some true merit...

Thanks, I've had that car forever - long story. I know the switches are in the jambs, but was wondering about the actual ground wires. Not easy getting my fat butt under the dash, but it looks like only one wire going into the switches, which I'm assuming is the power.

The grounding for the curtesy lights can be considered one continuous wire with jumpers off to the headlight switch and door jam switches. The good news is the light switch grounds the circuit so all the wiring going up to the dome light is good. 694.1 is pointing you in a good direction to check the condition of the jam switches.

Yep, I pulled the switches and found corrosion where the plunger makes contact. Cleaned 'em up, and they're working fine. Thanks for the help, much appreciated!

For future reference all one has to do is pull the wire off the plunger switch and ground it. If the light comes on, the switch is bad or has a bad ground. Expect a little spark when grounding the wire.
