Just thought of this.
(been so long since I had a blacklisted IP) Usually it's the email that is blacklisted. (you won't be able to send or receive mail) If it's a log in problem because of your IP, that is probably done by the company that you are logging into. They may have blocked a certain range of IP addresses because of too many spammers. So might email them and ask what the deal is?

Quote:
2nd site shows the IP number that has been blacklisted. 107.126.62.84 It also shows that same number to be the Hostname. ??? That doesn't seem possible, does it ? Would a router have exactly the same IP address AND Hostname ??? Tried it on the form anyhow. As expected it's "invalid". https://www.spamhaus.org/css/removal/form/ |

Yes.
All web sites are actually by the IP address. The DNS gives those IP addresses their name if one is bought for it. The names are for you to remember them mostly. (and for advertisement also)

Yeah, I called today. They're closed.
Will call tomorrow & see what I need to do. One online site said a router can be infected with a virus & can't be cleaned up. So, I may have to get a new router from AT&T. |

It will be interesting to see what AT&T tells you.
You have Fixed Wireless Internet provided by AT&T from the sounds of it. This thread indicates that AT&T has a router that sends out the wireless connection to your rooftop antenna. The router in your home then sends out the wireless signal that your computer and other stuff connects to. If I understand what these guys are talking about, the problem is the upstream router. It changes the IP address frequently which apparently certain secure websites don't like. And that is why the one website you are struggling with might be blocking you. Read here. I'm sure I don't understand everything being said but it may be useful to you. https://forums.att.com/conversations...d5f2f6066267cb Also this thread. https://forums.att.com/conversations...625bd45#M47292 |

OK, here's the scoop, from an AT&T lady in the Phillipines.
This ATT&T modem has a "dynamic" IP address. The modem & what I call the router is all contained in the big box, which has the name AT&T U-verse printed on it. She said that every time the modem re-boots, it's IP address will change. Well, several people told us to unplug the big box, let it stay off for a few minutes, then plug it back in. So, we did that. That did not change the IP address. It remained 107.126.64.82, which is the IP that is on the blacklist. The lady told us to unplug the modem box, then also unplug the small box which is hooked to the antenna wire. She said they do not need to be unplugged for some long period of time. So, they were unplugged less than a minute. I had plenty of dumb questions for her, to occupy that time period. TJ then plugged the small atenna box back in. The 2 lights on it came on. She then plugged the big box back in. I takes maybe around 3 minutes or so for all the lights on the big box to come back on. The green light labeled Wi-Fi blinks continually while the power stays on. Once all the lights were back on, she told me to try to post on the site where I had been blocked, which I did. Was able to post just fine. I thanked the lady & wished her a very nice day ! Since I was curious, I Googled something like "What is my IP address ?" The 1st site I clicked on olny had the IPv6 IP. But, the next site also had the IPv4, which was now 107.126.68.25. So, only the last 3 numbers changed. But, that IP address is NOT on a blacklist, at least not yet. Anyhow, if this ever happens again, it won't be the big deal it was this time. Many times, just a small amount of the correct info can be very helpful. |

That new forum you posted on probably has built-in auto-detect in its software that detected you as "spamming" and auto-listed you on the blacklist.
The guy hosting the forum may not know about all those settings yet. It may be set to the low side by default. At least you know how to fetch a new IP in case it happens again. If your router had a static IP , there is a run: command line you can enter to fetch a new IP for those also. |
