Dan restored and installed the correct air cleaner and lid, so now is looking much more correct. Scott (Tiemann) added to correct stripes and inscriptions to the upper radiator hose. We also did a check of all the wiring and switches to make sure everything was working on hot where needed...and everything worked as they should...all the lights, switches, fan, horns, instrument panel, gauges, radio, etc. All the grounds were good and there are a lot of them on that big car.

Do you know where Dan found the air cleaner decal?? Or did he have it made?? Looks to be the same as my 69 Grand Prix

Hawkins69, Dan just ordered it from Ames. Fortunately, both the air cleaner and tune-up instructions are pretty faithful reproductions and match what's left of the original stickers very closely.

It's almost ready to drive if you've got the electrical hooked up! Can't wait to see it finished.

I’ve struggled to find these over the years. Waldron sometimes carries good period replacements that look very close to OEM. But they didn’t have any last time.

I fabricated them on my last project. Started with components from auto parts supply and had some hand cutting and forming done.

North - We'll check a few other sources (RARE for one), but I believe we'll be taking the same route you had to and fabricate them ourselves.

Default brackets

Franks Pontiac in CA might have the brackets you need? you can look online and see if they are what you need.

If not I might have a used set, but it will be 5 weeks or so before I am at home where the parts are stored.

Incommunicado - Thanks for the suggesting Franks, Ill check them out. The exhaust is 6 weeks out, so the timing may be right for you to check your parts stash...thanks!

Another possible source is CPR: http://www.pontiacparts.net/fullsizeparts.htm They don't necessarily have everything listed on their website, so if you don't see something there it's worth giving them a call. I imagine Frank's may be the same - if you don't see it on their website give them a call.
